ABOUT THE IBAA
Who is the International Blown Alcohol Association (IBAA)?
History:
The IBAA was formed in the early '90s by a couple of die hard drag racers,
Darrell Webb from Edmonton and Ken Kraus from Montana They decided
to build a couple of Funny Cars to give the tracks something different.
The idea was to have some blown alcohol cars make lots of noise, do long smoky
side-by-side burnouts and have photo finish races on a 7.50 index to excite the
fans. These guys felt that bringing back Nostalgia racing would be a great
way to entertain the people who saw these types of cars back in the 60's &
70's.
Over the years our fan base has grown from little tikes to seniors. We often hear comments such as "Wow, what a cool car" or "I don't remember having that kind of engine in my car when I owned one". This is the type of response we are always looking for.
The Club:
We have members from Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia who travel across Western Canada and occasionally to the Northern USA.
We hold Annual meetings at the end of each season to discuss rules, up coming promotions, the next years schedule and elections are held for the executive positions. The IBAA maintains a rule book which is updated and distributed for every member to follow.
