The driver, Rod Elliott, adds his immense expertise, having raced everything from Ski-Doos and Bracket Cars, to the years of racing Drag Hydro Boats. Carrying on his love of racing boats, the Barracuda currently holds the engine of his Western Canadian Championship winning boat, Dragon Slayer, which brought him his 183 mph run in the 7 second bracket on a 1/4 mile race, not to mention Rod's impressive 0.4 reaction time. One sunny day, as if by fate, with the hull of the ship being long sold, Rod decided to take the boats motor of out of storage from the garage where it had sat dormant the past four years. When the motor started on the first try, Rod's long time passion to drive Funny Cars resurfaced with a vengeance. The only dilemma now was finding a body which could do justice to such racing pedigree. However, Rod's job at Chrysler quickly solved this, keeping the Dodge Barracuda fore front in his mind. With a bit of luck, and lots of hard work, Rod was able to secure ownership of 1 of only 6, 1970 Nostalgia Barracudas ever produced. With passion, experience, and drive Rod Elliott and his team have made slimer a force to be reckoned within the IBAA.
