Saskatoon once again had some terrific racing action. Mattais
Hane did some fancy driving when he got out of the groove and came way too close
to hitting the wall. He managed to get it under control and saved any potential
damage to the body. All members did an excellent job of getting the numbers very
close in qualifying putting Jason Bussey in number one with a 7.506 and Eddy
Plaizier again number 2 with a 7.510. See the results page for the rest of the
member's positions. Second round took out two racers without getting a pass in
and allowing an automatic win for their opponent when the first pair saw the Kos
car loose the parachute on the burn out and be shut down. This gave Eddy
Plaizier a free pass to the final against Cal Tebb when with the second pair,
Darrell Webb's car wouldn't fire. Again, with the auto insert into the final,
Cal and Eddy were ready for the last round. Apparently Cal was a little too
anxious to get to the finish line when he broke out with a 7.488. Eddy took the
win with his 7.523. The crowd enjoyed all the attention the drivers gave them by
throwing items into the stands and showing their appreciation for attending.
A special mention to the passes made by Kato. Not only were they straight and
clean, but very good times as well as his reaction at the tree. Way to go Kato!!
Our next race is in Drayton Valley on August 30 & 31. We will update you on
the results after that. It is getting down to the crunch and it could be
anyone's game as far as the points series goes. Jason and Eddy are on the hot
seat and everyone else close is gunning for them.
